Friday, May 15th was a great day. So much so that we didn't come inside until well after 10pm. Friday started off just like the rest of our days except with a breakfast of cinnamon rolls to start the day off right. We did plenty of math before doing some fun things too. I went and picked up groceries and restocked our fruits and veggies. I even cleaned out our fruit and veggie drawers to accommodate them. I am very thankful that we have such an amazing produce store not even 1/2 block from our house.
After Math, Ella and I got our sourdough bread ready to bake. It has been a long process. It didn't get into the oven until around 8pm. By the way, it might not look amazing, but man was it good! Josh and Emerson started a fire outside. Emerson loves trying to boil water in a paper bowl on the fire. This time he actually got it to boil. Josh and I enjoyed a quiet evening outside until the kids decided to invade with graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate, and light sabers. It was a MUCH NEEDED night of family.
Today, Saturday, May 16th was a day of lots of outside jobs. Flowers are blooming and the weather is finally warmer. One of my azaleas even started blooming. My azaleas are a reminder of one of my favorite places on Earth, Charleston, SC. I tackled planting all my pots in the front and backyard. I had lots of help from Ella which was wonderful. Then we tackled doing our spring cleaning of the chicken coop. It gets a THOROUGH cleaning including even using the shop vac to vacuum it out. We also added 2 more nest boxes to give them a few more places to find some space.
Brayden is still being super creative with woodworking and some Star Wars building. It is fun to see him find things to do. He is usually running in a million different directions. I know he misses all his activities, but I think he is also enjoying the slower pace as well.

Micah and Ella cleaned out the guinea pig cage while Emerson was on guinea pig duty outside. :) Josh made shrimp and grits. It is his famous recipe that is a family favorite. It is one of our favorite things that also reminds us of Charleston, SC. It was a shrimp and grits kind of night. One of our favorites. We ate dinner outside in the backyard. It was a wonderful way to wrap up our Saturday evening. Now it is time to snuggle up and warm up a little as the weather cools off. I am enjoying watching the #Graduatingtogether2020 special on TV. I am so impressed with how the high school students especially the Class of 2020 has handled this with grace. So much of their life was turned topsy turvey with so much disappointment, but I am so impressed with them. It makes the future look bright. Glad to see all these celebrities, and even President Obama congratulate them with such inspiring messages. Ella even got to watch and listen to Malala's message to the Class of 2020. Now Josh and I are going to watch a movie. That's a wrap for our Saturday.
