What a wonderful weekend! This weekend was the start of a very small get together of my family. Thursday night my brother, sister, and two nephews came up for the weekend. This weekend is typically our White Family Reunion, which hosts 60-70 members of our family gathered to celebrate the 4th of July. We have had this reunion for MANY years. This was the first one cancelled in a LONG time. Next year will just have to be bigger and better.

Friday we spent the day i the pool, riding 4-wheelers, catching frogs, and setting off some fireworks. The kids LOVED that Uncle Cory made each of the kids their own bag of fireworks. The spinners that shot in the air were a favorite. They also got to shoot roman candles. The kids had a ball and we enjoyed watching. We had some great ribs that Cory smoked along with hamburger and hot dogs grilled by Uncle Cory and Emerson.

Saturday was more swimming, 4-wheeling, and a little gardening. Josh and I spent an hour in the garden weeding, but MAN was it HOT. Ella got an opportunity to go on a trail ride with Angie just across the street from my parents at the Kankakee River State Park. I am sure that was the highlight of her weekend. We had an amazing dinner once again. Cory smoked pork butt and made pulled pork. We had lots of salads, and Ella's amazing desserts. We were all very worn out and sun drenched. We also celebrated Cory's 50th Birthday which is coming up in July. Cory, Tamara, and Kash all have birthdays this month.

Sunday was spent much of the same, but also lots of picking up and cleaning up. Cory and Tamara headed for home pretty early this morning. They had a long drive ahead We had a great weekend even missing all of our extended family. I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day. I also hope that we always remember where our country came from and continue to work for the pillars our country was built on for ALL people. I know we can do better. I also know we can work together to beat COVID and help keep everyone safe in our country.

This week we will be preparing to leave for our big road trip. I will probably only be posting once we get home as we will have very little cell service. We are super excited to take our home away from home on the road.
