A Nice Quiet Week

Our big goal this week was getting 4-H projects submitted. Our county fair has turned to virtual, so this was a pretty big undertaking. I wanted to get one project for each kid submitted. Then if we got anything else submitted, it would be icing on the cake. We worked on projects on Monday, but didn't get anything submitted. I worked with each of kiddos on their projects and some school work too. We are working on our Math to try to keep up with Math and writing during the summer, and reading too of course. Ella also got her lesson on making lattes. She wants to be able to make them all on her own.

Tuesday was the day! We got all 3 kids projects submitted for 4-H. It was an all day affair, but we got it done. Micah submitted his project for Junk drawer Robotics. Ella submitted her Photography 1 project. Emerson submitted his Cloverbud project which was a catapult he built with Dad's help. It felt so good to get them all submitted.

Wednesday was a pretty quiet day. I taught in the morning. I got a fun surprise when one of my online students in China drew a picture of me. It was absolutely precious. I do love teaching online. We have been taking it pretty easy this week as two of our four kiddos are having trouble with allergies. Poor Emerson and Brayden have been sneezing like crazy. Thankfully, they are both on the mend, but it was nice to just take it easy this week.

Today was another fairly quiet day. The kiddos worked on their schoolwork. Brayden was finishing up his summer JJC course. He had a term paper to finish on the 2nd amendment. Lots of great conversations there. Ella, Emerson, and Micah are all plugging away at their math. There has been LOTS of talk about the fall school year and what it is going to look like. Of course there is also lots of talk about homeschool. We are still doing a combination of public school and homeschool, so if anyone has any questions, feel free to reach out. After our school work, Ella and I headed out to a former 4-H'ers house to horseback ride. A former 4-H member offered to let Ella come out and do some riding with her. It was the highlight of Ella's week for sure. Ella LOVES anything to do with animals, especially dogs and horses. We continue to look for the right fit for Ella with horseback riding. She loves to ride and just wants to ride and enjoy while also learning new things. Today was a perfect for that. We ended our night having dinner in the backyard. I absolutely LOVE our backyard. I am very thankful for our tiny abode and all it has to offer especially as we are spending more time at home. Happy Friday Eve!
