Yesterday I made a plan to do better and to keep myself accountable. I love my Happy Planner and use it religiously. Typically it is very full due to 4 children's' schedules. Of course, now my planner is pretty empty, but I am finding new ways to use it. I like checklists. I like to check things off. I do better and hold myself accountable when things are written down. So today I started with our schoolwork, then my workout, some work for Lewis, and ended with cleaning out my hall closet. It wasn't a lot. It was doable. And I checked 4 things off my list. That feels good.
School today went really well. Micah is doing unbelievably well with his. Our usual start time seems to be 10am and I am okay with that. Micah does almost all of his work on the computer. Today he had an added STEAM experiment. Everyone enjoyed participating in that. Ella is working on a writing piece for an IEW writing contest. Micah is also writing for this contest, but his topic is different as he is in a different age group. Emerson worked hard on his math today. He is almost finished with his math book. He is working on multiplication and division. Brayden is plugging away at his work as well. He even submitted his choir audition today for next year's choir placement. I am impressed with all that we are able to do with technology.
After school work, I headed down to get my workout in. I have promised myself that I would exercise 5 days a week alternating between the treadmill and the elliptical. I am proud to say I am on day 2. I was also able to do some remote supervision for my student teachers today. That was great to get done. I have 4 more to do, but one at a time. I was also able to tackle laundry today as well as cleaned out and organized the hall closet. None of these were big jobs, but it felt good to get something done. I want to tackle my closet and the kids's closets as well, but that will wait for another day.
Tonight we had leftovers even though it was Taco Tuesday. I might be in trouble for that one. I did more meal planning last night and feel a little better about our meals. We are definitely in a better routine. Now to add in a little more reading, writing, and games to our evenings. Happy Tuesday!
