I have been pretty quiet the last few days. It has been a lot to process. Our home life has continued much of the usual, but our community has been hurting and even threatened by looting and violence. We have had some deep discussions and reflections these last few days. I am anxious to see what changes will occur from the spotlight that has been brought on the injustices occurring in our nation.
Beyond the chaos in the world right now, our lives have tried to continue on as much as normal. We have been continuing our learning and other jobs around the house. We have stayed close to home except getting groceries, which was a bit more difficult as things earlier this week were closing early. Thankfully, I was able to get to the store to get our necessities and get back quickly. Emerson was super happy because I was able to get to Peter Rubi our produce store and restock. :) I was also able to go by the library and pick up our books on hold. We are SO thankful that our library has opened for curbside delivery. We were running out of books for sure.
Today was a special day in our household. Today was Joshua's 30:12th birthday. I'll let this sit right here and see if you can figure that out. We tried to celebrate and make Josh feel as special as he is to us. That is a tall order for sure. I'm going to share my facebook post, which is short and sweet. Happy 30:12th birthday to my amazing husband. I know this year has been a little bumpy, but I wouldn’t want to take this ride with anyone else. Thanks for being our rock, our biggest supporter, and my BEST friend. I know today wasn’t anything spectacular, but you are spectacular to us, and we hope you always know that.❤️❤️❤️❤️Happy birthdayJoshua Ruland!!
I hope everyone is taking the time to do the work to help our nation heal, grow, and be better. I know I am. I vow to keep learning each and every day.
I'll leave you with some photos of our week so far.
