Happy Friday Eve! Today started out with me getting up BRIGHT and early to go turkey hunting. It was our last morning to hunt, so we planned to hit it hard. I will admit, I was exhausted an actually fell asleep for a bit. Then about 9am a turkey appeared. He walked up from the corner right to our decoys. It was a young tom turkey and wasn't meant to be. He flew off over the creek. It was some excitement for sure. Dad and I really enjoy hunting together and seeing wildlife no matter what happens. I was bummed to not bring a turkey home for dinner, but it really it is really more about the experience. Josh continues to work from the Airstream and is keeping up his work from home hats. The kids are not letting him give it up. Here he is with today's hat. :)
Ella started her school day with her online IEW. This is her last week of IEW. She is going to miss her online friends and her teacher. She has a pretty awesome teacher this year. The teachers took a picture that said they were the "online team who was teaching in quarantine before it was cool (crossed out because they are learning to use more specific words). She has learned so much this year. I can't wait to see what next year holds.

The other three kiddos kept plugging away at their school work. I am looking forward to getting back into our routine together. I truly enjoy learning with our family at home. I guess that is why I enjoyed homeschooling to begin with. I have started researching our resources for next year. I always get excited to start thinking about what we will be doing together. We typically continue to learning throughout the summer whenever we are home. This gives us more flexibility throughout the year.
This afternoon I had to drive up to North Aurora to pick up Brayden's allergy drops. You park in the parking lot and pay over the phone. Then they bring them out to the car for you. We are now good for 6 months. Dinner tonight was a venison roast in the instant pot slow cooking with potatoes and carrots. I used a ranch dressing packet, pepperoncini peppers, french onion soup mix, and a stick of butter. We haven't made roast in awhile, so it was a nice change. The kids are looking forward to beef stroganoff tomorrow from the leftovers. That is one of their favorites.
After dinner was a fire in the backyard, a nerf gun war, and just some relaxing. Josh and I are now watching hiking videos dreaming about our upcoming vacation plans. We are still hoping our National Park trip to Utah is going to happen. Right now we are watching videos about the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. Josh and I would like to someday hike some or all of the Appalachian Trail. I think the Pacific Crest Trail might be a little much for us, but the Appalachian trail seems a little more doable. What are you dreaming about doing? Do you have any big dreams? What do you want to do after the quarantine is over? The AT is definitely several years down the road for us, but it is fun to dream.
