Fires in the backyard

We adjusted our school schedule to a checklist for the youngest 3. It is working much better as we are adjusting to school at home. Scaling back expectations for all of us is helping us focus on what matters.

My husband has been working so hard to create a positive learning plan for his school district to use once they return from spring break. He is in charge of the teaching and learning/curriculum a PreK-8 school district. I cannot express enough how proud I am of him during all this. His teachers and students are his top priority. He has spent countless hours in our "quarantined bunker" (the airstream in our driveway). I give him a bad time about his pretty cool office. After he "got off work" today, he decided to do a little work on the airstream. Working on the airstream is his therapy. He gave me the biggest heart attack I have ever had today. In his defense, it wasn't his fault. I looked out our kitchen window, saw the ladder on the side of the airstream, and he was on the ground between our two cars. I thought he had fallen off the ladder. I FLEW out the front door, but not before my body getting ahead of my feet. I crashed my chin into the bar stools at our kitchen counter. Thankfully, he was just checking something under his Jeep. I must say, I have NEVER been that scared in my life. I am now recovering with lots of aches and pains in my neck and back from my crazy escaped trying to get4 to my husband whom I had thought had fallen from the ladder onto our concrete driveway. I can laugh now, but holy cow did that scare me. Hopefully, you are now laughing at me. So after some relaxation, we grilled out tonight. It was SO NEEDED.
Venison brats and cheesy brats (as my kids call them), grilled veggies (whatever I had in hand). Then we had peeps roasted over the fire. That was an experience. I loved sitting by the fire with my husband and kiddos. We needed the time outside today. I hope you are finding those family times too.
