Friday Eve - Day 17

I am not sure I have told you, but I teach online ESL to children in China. We have been aware of the “virus” as they call it for months. These kiddos have been out of school since January. What is crazy is that the kiddos I teach each morning, are now checking on me to make sure we are safe. This morning I woke up bright and early and taught 4 classes to some super cute kiddos. Then I went back to bed and snuggled my youngest two for awhile.

Then we got up and tackled cleaning the house. Last night Josh and I divided the rooms in our house between the four kids and myself. I had the least amount of rooms as I usually end up helping the kids with all of their jobs. It was wonderful to have all their help and get done by early afternoon. The kids had lots of creativity going on this afternoon. Emerson has been building a catapult with his Dad during this time off. They were able to finish it.

After cleaning the house, I went outside and put up my new hammock in the tree. I let out my chickens and opened a book. It felt glorious to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. My birthday is tomorrow and it felt good start the weekend with a clean house and some fresh air. Guess what?!? My oldest even baked my birthday cake this afternoon while I was outside!

I popped chicken breasts in the instant pot and made a version of fiesta chicken to put in tortillas for dinner tonight. While that was cooking, Josh and I took a walk again tonight while dinner was cooking. We had a great walk and a great family dinner. Now we are all relaxing. I am SO looking forward to the nice weather tomorrow and grilling outside. Happy Friday Eve as coined by Micah. I know the days of the week all seem to run together now, but I am finding joy in our routine.
