Happy Birthday- Day 18

Today is my birthday. My only request to the kiddos today was that they not wake me up. They were super sweet and came in and sang Happy Birthday as soon as I woke up this morning. Emerson informed me that he loves me more than pizza and cake combined. I definitely was feeling loved.

It was nice to wake up to a clean house thanks to our efforts yesterday. I made a breakfast that I had been wanting to try. It was a low carb Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce. I must say it was quite yummy even if I was the only one who ate it. We did some school work today despite being on "Spring Break." This was definitely not the spring break we had planned, but I know everyone is feeling the same way. The boys participated in a live soccer training this morning. It was fun. I even joined in for a short bit.

While folding laundry this afternoon, we had some visitors. I rushed out to see one of Brayden's friends and her family. It was so nice to chat. I stood on the driver's side and chatted with her mom while Brayden stood and chatted on the other side with his friend. I love that we are all figuring out ways to stay #sociallyconnected.

This afternoon the sun came out and we enjoyed being outside. It felt fabulous. Ella gave me a pedicure. She is always so thoughtful. I was able to read a good book in my hammock and soak up the sun before the clouds rolled in. We had an amazing dinner - steak, asparagus, Costa Rican beans and rice, and Ella's homemade deviled eggs. It was delicious. Then I opened some very thoughtful gifts. Ella drew and cut out a heart paper weight for me. It was precious. Emerson gave me a gift of 100 massages. Josh and the kids got me a gift certificate to the B&B that Josh and I spent our first anniversary at. After all this is over we are going to find 2 nights to go enjoy the same spot we spent our First Anniversary at in Galena. I can't wait.

We ended the night with a fire in the backyard, smores, and then german chocolate cake. This is a HUGE milestone for us, because Brayden is finally allowed to have tree nuts. He has been allergic to peanuts and tree nuts his whole life. He recently passed a tree nut challenge. He is still VERY allergic to peanuts, but is now allowed to have tree nuts. This was exciting for me because my favorite cake is German Chocolate. Brayden even made it for me. It was delicious and such a treat. He made a gluten free cake with the German Chocolate icing. YUMMY! Josh and I ended the night in the backyard by the fire. A perfect ending to Friday night and my birthday.
