A strange new world - Day 35-Day 36

Tuesday was a typical day at our house. School and learning using our checklist. This keeps us all on track. I went turkey hunting. We did see 2 tom turkey's but they were not on the property we were hunting. We got pretty cold because of the wind. We called it a day early, so we could warm up. I came home and helped with some Math and writing. Then took a nap to catch up on some sleep. Our day on Tuesday, was pretty boring, which isn't bad. I was exhausted.

We decided to skip hunting this morning and get some sleep. I got some snuggles from my youngest, which was super nice. I will never turn down snuggles. We settled in for our school day. The kids are doing a great job staying on task. Of course, the youngest ones need more assistance and teaching, but they are all doing great. I am really proud of them.

I went grocery shopping today. It is definitely VERY different venturing out in the world now. I have not been out in several weeks. I wore a mask and practiced being #physicallydistanced. It is just a strange feeling to be out. It felt good to restock with fruits and vegetables for sure.

We took groceries down to Grandma and Papa after we finished with school. Brayden even helped do a little mowing. Micah got to open his birthday presents. He was super excited about a new nerf gun. I am sure there will be more nerf gun wars at our house again soon. We helped clean up the garden a bit. My mom and dad are planning on planting a big garden again since they plan on being home a lot more this summer.

We came home and had dinner and then relaxed for a bit. Ella finished up her IEW as she has class bright and early in the morning. She has 2 more classes and then will be done with her online writing class until next year.

We usually continue to do our schoolwork in the summer as well on the days we are home. That gives us more flexibility during the year when we want to take breaks. It also keeps our brains sharp and keeps us off technology.

Tomorrow is the last day for Turkey hunting for my permit. We are going to give it one last try. I am sure I will be home before my kiddos even wake up. :).
