It has been a quiet Saturday at our house today after a fun filled birthday yesterday. I was informed by Emerson today that yesterday was his "Best Birthday Ever." I am glad we were able to make it so special.
Today was a lot of sleeping in, pajamas for most of the day, and lots of TV watching. We all need days like today. Ella and Emerson did venture outside. Ella is trying to replicate the trapeze artist in "The Greatest Showman" in the backyard. I told her we couldn't have any accidents, so she needed to take it easy. She is practicing from the rope hung from our tree for my hammock chair. Emerson is out playing on the swing set while the chickens and guinea pigs roam around the yard. Josh is busy working on the Airstream until the rain comes in.
He are planning on date night in tonight in the Airstream. It is a fun getaway in our driveway while still staying in. We are hoping for no rain tomorrow, so we can drive down and visit both of our parents. Both live in the country and we can safely visit outside while remaining #physicallydistanced. We are hoping to still have an Easter Egg hunt and see one another. I am counting on it.
I also placed my first order using InstaCart. I have never placed an order for groceries before, so we will see how it goes. It isn't easy keeping a family of 6 fed while staying in the house. They eat A LOT. :) Brayden went for a short bike ride today to get some fresh air. I was glad to see him get out for a bit.
While we waited for groceries, the kids dyed Easter Eggs outside. It always makes me happy when it can be done outside. We didn't dye a ton this year because we didn't want to buy too many eggs. The kids had fun and learned how to shrink wrap the eggs with a heat gun instead of boiling them. That was entertainment.
After dyeing Easter eggs, Josh and I went for a bike ride to get our wine and cheese plate from the Wine and Cheese Company in Plainfield. We are doing date night in the Airstream with a movie. I also made jalapeno poppers with some jalapenos I had that were going bad. Can't let anything go to waste right not for sure.
Date night was a success. The kids entertained themselves with games and movies inside. That is one nice thing about the kids getting older. They enjoy the downtime and can take care of themselves pretty well. I hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend. Tomorrow we will see if the Easter bunny has come and hopefully enjoy our church service online before heading to see Grandparents. Have a great Saturday evening.
