#motivation - Day 28

Today didn't start off with motivation. It started off with teaching online bright and early. I crawled back in bed at 8:30am to get a little more sleep before tackling the day. Emerson and Ella both joined me and went back to sleep as well. I love my morning snuggles and won't turn them down for as long as I can get them.

Today was officially an institute day for Plainfield schools. All the schools and teacher's aren't all on the same page, but it is slowly getting there. Brayden and Micah both still had assignments to do, but everyone is still adjusting. :). Thankfully everyone is being flexible. So today there wasn't a lot of school work done. Instead, we snuggled up on the couch and watched a Disney nature movie together. Then the kids went off to play while I worked out and then conducted a zoom meeting with my student teachers. Afterwards, it was time to reset. I worked on folding laundry and keeping the laundry going. Each of the kids picked up an area upstairs and downstairs. It doesn't take long when we all work together. That is one reason why I am glad we downsized house almost 6 years ago. We realized that what mattered were the memories we made NOT the size of the house we lived in. We still don't regret that decision.

Dinner tonight was corned beef and cabbage. We had an extra in the freezer, so it was a treat to pull it out and have a nice dinner tonight. That is the one thing that I don't like about the "shelter-in-place," while I know I can go to the grocery store, I try to go out as little as possible. That takes a lot of planning to feed a family of 6. I try to meal plan for two weeks at a time, but fresh fruits and vegetables don't last that long. I know we won't run out of food and I also know we are fortunate to have plenty, but it is on my mind.

Josh and I both decided we were going to hold each other accountable and start working together to eat healthier and workout more consistently. I drew a habit tracker in my Happy Planner tonight and made my goals. It always helps for me to have a plan. My plan is to drink more water everyday, exercise, no refined carbs, and to log my food. I think this will help me feel better and more accomplished as well. Here is to 30 days to a new habit.

Tomorrow starts our week of remote learning. I feel like we are falling into a rhythm and that is getting easier. I am thankful that our kids work so well and help one another when needed. I am sure we can finish this year strong together. :)
