I like to think our weekends start on Friday, but really they start at the end of the work day on Friday like everyone else. We celebrated this Friday with cinnamon rolls. The kids had a COVID style sleepover with a tent in the backyard. It was a big success. The kids had a great time playing and even did a little work for me too. They pressure washed the back patio. They thought it was great fun. :). We drove down to my parents after dinner to see my brother and two nephews. The kids were a little worn out after their late night sleep over in the backyard last night. It was nice to see my brother. It has been since Christmas. Brayden had to work, so he wasn't able to go with us. He was able to come on Saturday after work.
Saturday morning we all slept in. I ran a couple of errands to drop off and pick up library books and run to the grocery story to pick up a couple things. Then we headed down to Grandma and Papa's for the day to see my brother and nephews. Josh stayed home and waited for Brayden to get off work. They came down for dinner after Brayden finished work. We spent the day playing in the pool, working on the garden, and just being together. After dinner, we had s'mores around the fire. It was a good day for everyone. The kids had fun flying the new drone too. Lots to see at my parents. AND, today was my other nephew, Tucker's birthday. I called and sang to him. Hopefully we will get to see them sometime this summer too.
Sunday was our recharge and relax day. We got plenty done around the house as well though too. Emerson LOVED that Daddy made him a mocha latte this morning. He will argue that his Daddy makes THE BEST mocha latte. Emerson loves his Daddy so much. I love to see them spend time together. After a little relaxing, we all cleaned out drawers. I am trying to stay on top of the kid's growing out of clothes. Then the kids cleaned out the guinea pig cage. I worked on cleaning the garage and listed all our window air conditioning units. I actually sold 2 of them within an hour which was great. Josh and Brayden went to the junk yard to try to get a new bumper for his minivan. It was a fun little outing for Dad and son. It was a good day. A day of relaxing as well as getting jobs done. Emerson was even featured in our downtown sushi restaurant on Instagram. They used a photo that Josh took several years ago. It is adorable. Now it is time to relax and watch our traditional Sunday night YouTube shows. Brayden is at work again, so we will see him in just a little bit. How are your weekends shaping up now?
