So Many Thoughts - Day 71

Today has been a thought provoking day. We have lots of in depth conversations in our house. They range from engineering, logistics, ethics, history, and everything in between. Today was no different.

It started off as normal. I taught 4 of my ESL classes online. Then went back to bed to get some more sleep. With our short trip this weekend, I was a little short on sleep. We started our day with our summer learning. We continue to do some form of learning year round when we are home. I will share a couple of those schedules with you tonight. The kids like knowing what is expected of them and I even got a "That's fair." today after they looked them over. It is still more technology than I would like, but it is also not something that happens every day.

I am overwhelmed with all the news right now, both with the pandemic and the injustice happening in our country. I am very quiet about my opinions on social media. I have a difficult time expressing my ideas and views in written word. I also do not like confrontation, and I know that is an issue, but I am aware of it as well. What I do know, is that I need to do better. The one thing that we try hard to do is educate and help our children understand all that is going on.

At dinner tonight, Micah was talking about drones. He is enthralled with Tesla and it soon came up in the conversation as well. Apparently Space X is having its first attempt at launching astronauts into space. That led to Ella voicing her opinion that she didn't like NASA a whole lot because they did testing on animals. I can't even begin to explain the depth of their conversation, but they both had very valid points and arguments. They are now onto research so they can improve their arguments with more information. I am proud of their passion and reasoning.

My night ended with a victory selling a friend's chicken coop. I listed it for her as I have it in my yard. Within 30 minutes I had 45 PM's from Facebook. I was able to sell it for her for 2x's what another person had offered us several weeks ago. I was super glad to be able to help her out and get a fair price for it.

Josh and I are wrapping up the night hanging out and relaxing. I am super excited that the weekend is coming up. I am hoping to try out my new kayak sometime this weekend on a local lake. :). Happy Friday Eve everyone.
