Today is the first day of our school's spring break. However, we have been on a VERY loose schedule for the past 2 weeks, so we tried to stay in a better routine this morning. Today was suppose to be our 2nd day in the Disney Parks. Yesterday was Epcot and today was Hollywood Studios. Today would have been our day to check out the new Star War's area and rides. I even had a fast pass for Smuggler's Run. Our trip is now rescheduled for June 13, but even that isn't definite as Disney is not closed indefinitely. :( I know many people have Spring Break plans that were foiled because of the pandemic going on. The fear, disappointment and unknown of all of this is hard. We keep putting one foot in front of the other and try to create some normalcy in the middle of chaos. The sun shining today helps tremendously. I think it definitely calls for going for a walk in the woods. Nature is our refueling point. The kids seem to let go and explore even if they are resistant in the beginning. Conversations happen that might not otherwise. Especially if headphones are left in the car. :). We have another big vacation planned in July. In fact, we are using part of it as a learning project. The kids are each researching one of the National Parks we are visiting. They are preparing a presentation on the hikes, animals, and places they would like to see and do while we are in Utah. We have 2 weeks planned to see Utah's Big 5 and Antelope Canyon.

Our learning schedule went well today. I was very pleased with our progress. Hoping we can stick to a schedule. We are also finding ways to be active. I needed some incentive today, so the kids and I all got bikes down and took a bike ride. It was nice to get some fresh air and exercise outside.
We had dinner together as usual. Polish sausage and Brussels sprouts baked in the oven. It was a simple and easy sheet pan dinner. Then we had a relaxing evening. Josh and I had lots of fun hanging out with our oldest talking about colleges, books, movies, and video games. It was a nice change.
Tomorrow I am going to brave the grocery store. We need to get a few things as it is our normal 2-week grocery shopping trip. Hopefully I will be able to get in and out quickly. I haven't been out in 2 weeks. Tomorrow I will also be updating my list of resources for learning for anyone that would like them. I would love to hear what your days have looked like. :)
