Sunny Saturday - Day 53

Today is May 9 and Illinois is still officially under a "shelter-in-place" until May 30. We are allowed to go to the grocery store and hardware stores are open as well. Greenhouses were allowed to open May 1st, and restaurants can still do curbside service. We are suppose to wear a mask in any building. There is a lot of controversy about that, but we will continue to follow the rules to keep ourselves and others safe. It is the least we can do for others that are putting themselves at risk trying to help those that need it.

Today is a sunny, but cool Saturday. We all slept in which seems to happen more often than not. Josh and I enjoyed a latte this morning and then we headed outside. He worked on the Airstream and I worked on some jobs that needed done. We did some ordering of supplies for the Airstream. I also planted sunflower seeds in the backyard. I absolutely LOVE sunflowers and hope to fill the backyard along the fence with HUGE mammoth sunflowers. Here's to hoping the upcoming rains help them sprout and grow.

I also did a little research as to the plants I want to purchase. I don't put a garden at our house, but I do have a pretty amazing herb garden. I am looking to add more herbs to it this year.

I am also helping plant and hopefully maintain the big garden that we have at my parent's house. The kids love planting and harvesting. It has been awhile, but since we will be home more this summer and fall, they decided to put a big one in again. We will also be canning again which makes me happy.

We did a hodge podge dinner tonight of left overs. Josh and I ordered a wine and cheese tray from The Wine and Cheese Company for later tonight. It is one of our FAVORITES in downtown Plainfield. After dinner, we took a drive to look for wildlife. It was a wonderful family night. We saw lots of deer and some egrets. We even got dessert to enjoy on the way.

When we got home, Josh and I pulled our our wine and cheese board to enjoy while watching a movie. Today was a great, relaxing, and enjoyable day. How did you enjoy your day today?
