SUNSHINE - Day 16

Today was my day to run errands. The kids stayed home and were able to complete their school work mostly independently. I haven't been out of the house in 2 weeks and it was time for groceries. Yesterday I planned out our meals and all the errands I would need to run. I only wanted to leave the house once, so I made a list of my errands. I went and got groceries for both our family and my parents, dropped off something at the post office, and then went to Farm and Fleet to get chicken food and dog food. It has definitely changed out in the world in the last 2 weeks. Aldi, the post office, and Farm and Fleet have clear dividers between the cashiers and the customers. It looks different out there, but people are all doing their best. Each of us can do our part by STAYING HOME and only going out when necessary. We can treat each other with kindness and respect.

Part of my necessity in going out was groceries, but we also have 2 birthdays coming up in the next 2 weeks as well as Easter. I am trying to keep things as normal for the kids as possible, as well as celebrating them in unique ways because we usually have big family parties. I think I was able to get the supplies needed to do just that.

As soon as I got home, I took a shower and changed clothes. Then we headed down to my parents to take their groceries and medicine. The sunshine felt amazing today. I even went outside to bag my groceries from Aldi and didn't freeze. We stay physically distanced when delivering groceries to my parents, but man is it good to see their faces. The kids had a ball in the backyard. We took a walk around the property and talked. The kids rode 4-wheelers. It was wonderful to visit even if it was outside. One the way home we listened to the Christian radio station. It was very up-lifting.

We came home, had dinner, and then Josh and I went for a walk for 45 minutes. Today definitely helped lift my spirits. Tomorrow we are deep cleaning the house for the weekend. My birthday is Friday and I want to enjoy the day with my family and hopefully enjoy some time outside. I hope everyone else is finding ways to clear their heads and take care of themselves. We all need to do that. That is definitely something I forget at times. Happy April Fool's Day!
