Taking care of our pets - A vet day - Day 56

I started off the day teaching again this morning. I only had 2 class this morning though. Most of China is starting back to school, so our online teaching schedules are shifting a bit as they are finding a new routine there as well. Most of my students have been out of school since the beginning of January.

Emerson is doing amazing at his new online program. He is doing a great job and I am hopeful that it works well for him. He has struggled with reversals and some other small things and we are hoping to give him some strategies to become less frustrated and more successful.

Ella and I left late this morning to take our dogs to the vet. They were overdue for their yearly exam and vaccinations. They were suppose to go to the vet right as all the shut down started. Our vet is doing a great job keeping all contact at a minimum. Ella and I waited in the car. The techs came to the car to get the dogs. We waited in the car and got a phone call from the vet to go over everything. When they finished, they brought the dogs back out to the car. We were super impressed. Mia is terrified of strangers, but she did a great job too. Hunter and Mia are all up to date and good to go now. We have to take Hunter back in a month because of an ear infection that we have been trying to get rid of since October.

Then Ella and I ran a couple quick errands. One of which was to drop off a planter and card to a dear friend who is celebrating her birthday today. We also picked up Steve's Cheesecake Store to pick up cheesecake for her and her daughters. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINA!!!

Ella and I got home and relaxed for a bit. School is still getting done, but it seems to be happening randomly throughout the day. So glad that they boys will be done with "school" on Friday. They aren't officially done until May 22, but next week is not going to be "academically challenging" and is going to focus on more social, emotional learning and wrapping up the year. We will be transitioning everyone to our "summer" learning schedule next week. We will still be doing math, reading, and writing throughout the summer. It will just look a little different.

Dinner was ham and beans in the Instant Pot. Josh and I went for a long walk while dinner was cooking. The warmer weather and sunshine has been welcomed. After dinner, Brayden went to visit his girlfriend. They are able to visit occasionally in the driveway with masks. I was glad he was able to get out and see her safely. Micah, Ella, Emerson, Josh and I played Harry Potter Scene It. It was fun entertainment.

Josh and I are currently watching food documentaries on Amazon Prime. I am wanting some motivation to keep moving towards healthier eating for myself and our family. Tomorrow is Friday EVE!! I am excited for the warmer weather coming. Ella's birthday is also next week. Tomorrow is also Brayden's AP Physics test. I am sure he will be happy when that one is over. Happy hump day friend! I hope you are finding the sunshine in your life despite the uncertainty in the world right now.
