First of all, they made it. Ella and Emerson camped all night in the tent outside in the backyard. I must say I was very impressed. It was pretty cold last night, so I was impressed they lasted. Ella said they woke up with the sun at 6:30am. She said it was a BEAUTIFUL blue sky without a cloud in the sky. She was very impressed. I most certainly was. They will be attempting night two tonight before they have to take the tent down tomorrow before the rain.
I woke up in a lazy mood this morning and feeling kind of lonely. This is a strange feeling when you are in the house with a family of 6. LOL. I know everyone is experiencing the swing of emotions during this time. I enjoyed some coffee and snuggles with my kiddos. I also got to catch up on the phone with my sister-in-law which was a much needed distraction.
After a late lunch, we went for a family walk in the woods. It is so nice to get some sunshine and fresh air. Many other family's were doing the same thing today. We took our two dogs with and stayed way more than our 6 feet apart from other people. The kids even did stick races under the bridge to see who won. They always make me smile.

We came home and sat out in the backyard. I enjoyed a latte from my very own at home barista. He isn't too bad on the eyes either. ;) Kiddos took care of our animals - feed and watered chickens, cleaned the guinea pig cage, and fed the dogs. The guinea pigs even came out to enjoy the sunshine and grass with us. I made guacamole for us to snack on and the kids ate leftovers to clean out our fridge. I think we will be having left overs again this week to clean more out of our refrigerator. I am thankful we are home safe and have plenty of food to feed our family during this time. I know others aren't as fortunate. If there is anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to reach out.

Josh and I are looking forward to watching a couple of "our" shows tonight. Josh even brought in the Airstream antenna to hook up the TV in hopes of catching the 7pm CST Blake Shelton concert on. We will see if it works soon. He ended up putting it in the backyard, just outside the window. It seems to be working quite well. The kids are all ready to start their new "remote" learning schedules tomorrow. I have once again adjusted our schedules as everything shifts and moves. Brayden will be doing most of his work through google classroom. It looks as though most teachers are posting the week's schedule and letting kids work at their own pace. Micah's is doing much of the same. Ella and Emerson are of course, with me, but we will be doing all our school work in the dining room together. Hopefully we have enough devices to complete everything.
As Emerson was trying to take the top off a bottle of syrup from the fridge today, he asked for help. I didn't hear the whole conversation between he and his dad, but I did hear something pretty profound from my 7 year old, soon to be 8. He said, “Everybody’s tough in their own way.” Man isn't that the truth. How are our children sometimes the most insightful. I hope everyone is ready to find the toughness in themselves in this coming week. Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers as they bloom.
